For Potts, it was a “dream come true and an experience I will cherish forever”, while McManus said it was “an absolute joy to unleash” her inner queen on season seven.

Parish added: “I had such an amazing time with the incredibly talented queens, and of course meeting RuPaul in the flesh was truly sublime! I can’t wait for everyone to see this season; it will be legendary!”

FINALLY: BBC Three has confirmed the premiere date for the seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

On 10 September, the series’ social media channels announced that our “wish has been granted” and “fairy godMOTHER Ru has spoken,” before ruvealing that the show returns on Thursday 25 September.

“Dust off your heels – you’re going to the ball!” they added.

The Instagram post sparked a flurry of excitement from fans and franchise alumni, with UK vs the World winner Blu Hydrangea writing: “As one supreme rises, Kyran Thrax fades.”

“Wait what’s happening on the 25th September I’m confused?!” wrote Paige Three, one of the 12 queens competing on the season, while her competitor Catrin Feelings added: “Do I still get 2 more wishes?”

As with every season of Drag Race, the cast will battle it out in a variety of iconic challenges: designing their own runway looks, delivering Oscar-worthy performances in acting skits, and, of course, impersonating celebrities in the Snatch Game.

The winner of each maxi-challenge earns a coveted RuPeter Badge, while the bottom two queens lip-sync for their lives to stay in the competition.

The queen crowned the UK’s Next Drag Race Superstar will join The Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney, Krystal Versace, Danny Beard, Ginger Johnson and Kyran Thrax in the Drag Race UK Hall of Fame.

Season seven sees the return of RuPaul as host, alongside regular panellists Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and Graham Norton.

Six LGBTQIA+ artists are set to release a single in tribute to The Vivienne.

Bentley Robles, Bimini, Eden Hunter, Janethan and Tia Kofi have joined forces on ‘Your Light Will Shine’, with all proceeds benefiting Switchboard, the national LGBTQIA+ support line that recently marked its 50th anniversary.

Due for release on 17 September, the song was written by The Vivienne’s close friend and manager, Simon Jones, who said he wanted to honour the late Drag Race UK winner’s “lasting legacy” while also raising “vital funds for a charity that does so much for our community”.

“Viv was a trailblazer and a one off, and in this song we celebrate their life but also remind everyone that right now we need to be united as a community and fight for our love more than ever,” he said in a statement.

“I’m so grateful to the amazing music artists who have given their time and talent to create this beautiful pop song.”

The Vivienne — born James Lee Williams — tragically passed away in January 2025 after suffering a cardiac arrest associated with a ketamine overdose.

Last month, World of Wonder released a documentary titled Dear Viv, celebrating her trailblazing legacy within the Drag Race franchise — from her historic win as the first UK champion to her return as the first international queen to compete on a U.S. season, All Stars 7.

BBC

Directed by Pete Williams, the film includes interviews with the star’s loved ones, including the following Drag Race stars: Baga Chipz, Blu Hydrangea, Cheryl Hole, Crystal, Danny Beard, Michael Marouli, Monét X Change, Raja, Tia Kofi and Trinity the Tuck.

Dear Viv also addresses the circumstances surrounding her death, particularly in light of her sister Chanel Williams becoming an outspoken advocate against ketamine use in the months since.

In a statement, World of Wonder co-founder Fenton Bailey said: “I think it’s really important not to shy away from that, not only because there wasn’t anyone more full of life than The Viv… but I think it’s important for people to know that the dangers of drugs. There’s no judgment here at all.

“But I think there is no harm in telling the truth, and I also believe Viv would really want that. Viv would not want us to hide anything.”

Dear Viv is now streaming in the UK on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer, and internationally on WOW Presents Plus.

Girl band icons, comedians, and an Absolutely Fabulous star have been confirmed for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season seven.

On 3 September, BBC Three announced the stars joining RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and Graham Norton on the panel to judge the charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent of the new batch of queens.

The lineup includes actors Jamie-Lee O’Donnell (Derry Girls), Jane Horrocks (Absolutely Fabulous), Michelle de Swarte (Spent), Sophie Willan (Alma’s Not Normal), and Susan Wokoma (Chewing Gum), comedian Joel Dommett, West End star Mazz Murray and radio host Jordan North.

Girl band royalty will also sashay onto the main stage in the form of Nadine Coyle (Girls Aloud) and Mutya Buena (Sugababes). Additionally, choreographer Claudimar Neto returns to “whip the queens into shape when they slip into their dancing heels.”

Horrocks, who memorably played Bubble and Katy Grin on Ab Fab, said: “I loved being on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. All the queens were super talented. I wanted them all to win!”

Coyle said: “Having been a guest for season three’s Snatch Game (and impersonated by the one and only Charra Tea on season six’s Snatch Game!), it’s such a dream come true to be a guest judge on this season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK!

“What an incredible experience to see the immense talent and creativity from the queens, and it was a joy to sit on the judges panel with Michelle, Graham, and the spellbinding RuPaul! You’re all in for a treat!”

Buena, a self-described Drag Race UK superfan, added: “It was an honour to be asked to be a panellist! I absolutely loved it.”

Season seven premieres “soon” on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.

Over 10 weeks, 12 queens will battle it out in a variety of challenges: designing their own runway looks, delivering Oscar-worthy performances in acting skits, and, of course, impersonating celebrities in the iconic Snatch Game.

The winner of each maxi-challenge will earn a covered RuPeter Badge, while the bottom two queens will lip-sync for their lives to stay in the competition.

The new season of Drag Race UK is set to include the drag daughter of the iconic Sasha Colby.

In the coming weeks, fans will finally be treated to the seventh season of the beloved UK-based spin-off.

Like past entries, 12 talented and fierce queens will compete across an array of sickening challenges – such as the Snatch Game and Rusical – and showcase their sickening runway ensembles for a chance to secure a coveted RuPeter Badge.

The queen crowned the ‘UK’s Next Drag Race Superstar’ will join The VivienneLawrence ChaneyKrystal VersaceDanny BeardGinger Johnson and Kyran in the Drag Race UK Hall of Fame.

Of course, mother RuPaul will be returning alongside her “good Judy’s” and staple judges Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr.

On 22 August, BBC Three unveiled the new batch of queens vying for the crown, which includes a former Queen of the Universe contestant and the series’s first-ever Leeds girl.

The Drag Race UK season seven cast will also feature another queen from the longstanding Colby dynasty, Paige Three.

Hailing from London/Surrey, the 28-year-old talent is the daughter of “your drag queen’s favourite drag queen” Colby.

Paige joined the Colby brood in September 2024, after the Drag Race season 15 winner introduced the former as her daughter during a performance.

The UK-based talent then celebrated her drag adoption in a heartfelt post on Instagram.

“And then she was a Colby…. I’ve never had a drag mother, I’ve got guides, I’ve got friends, and I’ve got sisters, but never an actual Drag Mother,” Paige wrote.

“Last night that changed, and it turns out to be the right one I’ve been waiting for all along, my favourite lip syncer from “My Mind” at Nightgowns to a 212 Miss Continental Winning performance – your favourite drag queen’s favourite drag queen and definitely mine. It’s @sashacolby.”

It’s that time again (finally) – the cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season seven has been unveiled!

Following the widely-acclaimed sixth season, which saw Kyran Thrax snatch the crown over La Voix in one of the franchise’s tightest finales, a new batch of queens is ready to enter the werkroom and compete for the title of the ‘UK’s Next Drag Race Superstar’.

The queen crowned the ‘UK’s Next Drag Race Superstar’ will join The Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney, Krystal Versace, Danny Beard, Ginger Johnson and Kyran in the Drag Race UK Hall of Fame.

(A tribute series, Dear Viv, honouring The Vivienne, who tragically passed earlier this year, will air 28 August on iPlayer.)

Season seven premieres this autumn on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer, with RuPaul returning alongside Michelle Visage, Graham Norton, and Alan Carr. No guest judges have been announced yet, but expect a mix of British pop icons and camp legends sashaying down the runway.

Silence, please! It’s time to meet the queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season seven…

Bones (25, London)

“The witchy boho queen of Soho,” Bones has been performing for seven years and was taken in as a daughter by drag legend Jodie Harsh. Her name reflects her love of the dark and mysterious, and while comedy isn’t her natural strength, she thrives on performance and competition. “I like to be on top, it’s where I belong!”

Bonnie Ann Clyde (30, Dublin)

“Ireland’s finest export,” Bonnie Ann Clyde hails from Dublin but has lived from San Francisco to Gran Canaria before landing in Manchester. Skilled in comedy, spoken-word, dance and ballad lip-syncs, she’s ready to claim her moment. Impersonating The X Factor icon Holly Jervis (possible Snatch Game tease?), she says: “I’ve worked for years doing jobs I didn’t want to do and I’ve worked so hard. I deserve this crown, I deserve that sceptre, I deserve that £25k.”

Catrin Feelings (26, Rhondda Valley)

A “blonde bilingual bombshell from the Rhondda Valley,” Catrin Feelings started as a COVID bedroom queen and now dominates the stage with feathers, gowns and comedy chops. Confident in her Snatch Game skills, she warns: “Best believe you should all be scared because Catty Feelings is going to win that badge!”

Chai T Grande (32, London)

“I am your sweet, spicy, steaming hot beverage all the way from exotic London!” Chai T Grande fuses her drag with her Thai heritage and has grown into a fierce stage performer. A formidable lyricist and dancer, she’s most excited for the girl groups challenge: “To me, it is everything I love about drag put into one gorgeous challenge and I can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Elle Vosque (22, Belfast)

From West Belfast, Elle Vosque is a self-described competitive queen ready to slay the Rusical. With skills in singing and dancing, she’s determined to prove she’s “the best of the West,” following Northern Ireland’s impressive Drag Race track record.

Nyongbella (25, London)

Nyongbella is a “life-sized brat doll and fashion editorial come to life,” a Ballroom queen excelling in Fashion, Killer Face and Realness. Proudly Cameroonian, she brings her heritage to the stage and hopes to inspire viewers from second-generation African households.

Paige Three (28, London/Surrey)

London/Surrey’s high-octane glamour queen, Paige Three combines her West End musical theatre chops with bold, show-stopping drag. From performing in Cats, Kinky Boots and Chicago to running London brunch shows and performing with Kimberly Wyatt, Paige is ready to dominate season seven: “You’ve been turning those pages and now it’s time to stop turning because you’re on Paige Three, baby, and I’m ready to take this crown!”

Pasty (30, Cornwall)

Cornwall-born and East London-based, Pasty is the “Sausage Roll Queen” bringing character comedy, themed shows, and playful energy to every stage. Inspired by Hocus Pocus – particularly Bette Midler’s iconic Winifred, Pasty serves laughs, chaos and a dash of culinary glamour: “Imagine a crown on top of a pasty, that’s literally amazing – as long as you don’t take a bite because it might crack your tooth!”

Sally TM (27, South Shields)

Hailing from South Shields, Sally TM is a 10-year drag veteran bringing alternative, unpredictable, and video game-inspired flair to the stage. With kooky, inventive performances — from interpretive dance to karaoke classics — she’s here to prove that originality is everything: “No one does it like Sally TM. I’m a true original. It’s like I’ve been carved from the stars and sent down to Earth.”

Sillexa Diction (26, Leeds)

Leeds’ towering, silly and sexy queen, Sillexa Diction is all about exaggeration, camp and chaos. With seven years of self-taught drag experience, giant breast plates and her own club night, she’s here to dominate design challenges and make everyone cackle: “I am the first Leeds girl on Drag Race, and it just feels correct.”

Tayris Mongardi (27, Brighton)

Brighton’s “Titan,” Tayris Mongardi channels Black female pop culture icons into every corset, wig and performance, saying: “For me, drag is all about Black queer joy.” With eight years of experience across adverts, pageants, ballroom and more, she will bring rap, dance, comedy and heart to the Drag Race UK stage: “My whole life has been leading up to this moment. So, put a crown on it girl, you know what I mean?!”

Viola (22, Coventry)

Viola, the UK’s only violin-playing and singing drag queen, previously wowed audiences on the second season of Queen of the Universe, where she placed sixth. With four years of drag experience and a love for Bach, Beethoven and Mozart, she combines singing, dancing, sewing and — most importantly — personality. “I’m fresh, I’m unique, and I’m super sophisticated,” Viola says. “I cannot wait to show the whole world what kind of drag queen I am.”

A new era of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is upon us!

According to the series’ social media channels, the cast will be revealed on – spoiler alert: it’s soon! – 22 August.

As always, it will be available to stream in the UK on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer, and internationally on WOW Presents Plus.

A small teaser accompanied the announcement, offering glimpses of the queens’ bodies draped in glitz and glamour, bathed in pink, purple and blue hues – possibly a nod to the promo theme? – alongside the iconic Drag Race slogan: “Start your engines.”

British alumni swarmed the announcement post on Instagram with celebratory messages.

Season six champion Kyran Thrax – anticipating the arrival of her successor – wrote: “Oh my god oh my god oh my god.”

“NOT ANOTHER ONE,” Just May hilariously commented, while UK vs the World season one winner Blu Hydrangea dashed fans’ hopes with: “UK All Stars, finally.”

Additional queens who welcomed Drag Race UK’s new era include Actavia, Banksie, Charra Tea, Elektra Fence, Ellie Diamond, Dita Garbo, Kitty Scott-Claus, Michael Marouli, Tomara Thomas and Scaredy Kat.

Season six – which saw Kyran triumph over queens such as La Voix, Marmalade and Rileasa Slaves – premiered on 26 September, so season seven will likely sashay onto screens around the same time.

Last week, it was announced that a documentary chronicling the life of Drag Race UK’s OG champion, The Vivienne, will premiere 28 August on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in the UK.

The Vivienne – born James Lee Williams – tragically passed away in January 2025 following a cardiac arrest, which was reported to be caused by the effects of ketamine.

Dear Viv film will explore The Vivienne’s trailblazing legacy within the Drag Race universe, including her historic win as the inaugural Drag Race UK champion and her return as the first international queen to compete on a U.S. season: All Stars 7, the franchise’s first-ever all-winners edition.

The hour-long documentary is also expected to celebrate her wider contributions to entertainment, from making history as the first drag performer to compete on Dancing on Ice to her West End debut as the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz.

The BBC is set to air a documentary spotlighting the life and legacy of the late Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne.

Produced by World of Wonder, the production company behind the Drag Race franchise, Dear Viv will premiere on 28 August on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer, and will also be available internationally via WOW Presents Plus.

The Vivienne – born James Lee Williams – tragically passed away in January 2025 following a cardiac arrest, which was reported to be caused by the effects of ketamine.

The hour-long film will explore The Vivienne’s trailblazing legacy within the Drag Race universe, including her historic win as the inaugural Drag Race UK champion and her return as the first international queen to compete on a U.S. season: All Stars 7, the franchise’s first-ever all-winners edition.

The documentary is also expected to celebrate her wider contributions to entertainment, from making history as the first drag performer to compete on Dancing on Ice to her West End debut as the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz.

Directed by Pete Williams, a producer on WOW’s long-running UNHhhh series, Dear Viv will include interviews with the star’s loved ones, including the following Drag Race stars: Baga Chipz, Blu Hydrangea, Cheryl Hole, Crystal, Danny Beard, Michael Marouli, Monét X Change, Raja, Tia Kofi and Trinity the Tuck.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, World of Wonder co-founder Fenton Bailey explained the importance of having the aforementioned queens involved as “relationships that form on the show are real and continue in real life”.

“The queens who were with Viv on Drag Race, you are in a fishbowl together for a protracted period of time,” he said.

“Yes, it’s a competition, [but] the camaraderie and the bonding that happens in the workroom is really extraordinary. … It just seem[ed like] who better than to talk about The Viv than other queens from Drag Race? It’s a real community, a very strong community.”

BBC

Additionally, the documentary will feature archival clips from The Vivienne’s appearances on Drag Race UK season one and All Stars 7. It will also address the circumstances surrounding her death, particularly in light of her sister Chanel Williams becoming an outspoken advocate against ketamine use in the months since.

Bailey said: “I think it’s really important not to shy away from that, not only because there wasn’t anyone more full of life than The Viv, … but I think it’s important for people to know that the dangers of drugs. There’s no judgment here at all.

“But I think there is no harm in telling the truth, and I also believe Viv would really want that. Viv would not want us to hide anything.”

Bailey added that he hopes the documentary will leave fans feeling “inspired”: “When I think of The Viv, I just think of this sort of bright light, and I get this warm feeling.

“And I think that’s what I would love anyone who watches this film to feel touched by and feel that as they go about their life, whatever they’re doing, drag queen or not, that they have a little bit of a lift, or a tiger in the tank, because that was Viv.

“And as sad as it is that The Viv was taken from us so young, oh my God, how much she gave people. It’s just unbelievable. Personally, I hope that wherever she is, The Viv gets to see this film [in] some way, shape or form. And I hope that she would love it as much as we loved her, as much as we do love her.”

Nymphia Wind has commented on whether she’d like to return to Drag Race for another winners-only season.

Back in 2022, the long-running franchise treated fans to the first-ever All Stars season consisting solely of champions.

The cast included Jaida Essence Hall, Jinkx Monsoon, Monét X Change, Raja, Shea Couleé, Trinity the Tuck, the late, great The Vivienne and Yvie Oddly

From the queens’ sheer charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent to RuPaul’s decision not to send any of the queens home, All Stars 7 has since been hailed as one of the greatest seasons in Drag Race herstory.

Since Jinkx’s incredible crowning as the inaugural “Queen Of All Queens,” viewers have eagerly waited for World of Wonder to announce a second All Winners season.

While the production company has remained mum on the topic, numerous Drag Race winners have expressed interest in the challenge, including season 16 champion Nymphia.

In a recent interview with PRIDE, the beloved talent said she “would definitely do it”.

“When simply asked the question, you simply must say yes. I had so much fun filming. If I do get the opportunity, I would be very excited to go back. Now, I have more money to create more extravagant looks,” Nymphia told the news outlet.

As for the queens she would want to compete against, she mentioned fashion powerhouses Sasha Velour and Violet Chachki.

“Definitely not the comedy queens like Bob or Bianca. I would be so scared! I would be intrigued to see how it would be with Aquaria and Symone,” she continued. “Any winner would be scary because they are all so fierce. They’re all at the top of their game.”

While the wait for a second All Winners season, fans will have plenty of Drag Race content to soak up.

On 9 May, All Stars 10 will make its grand premiere on Paramount Plus in the US and WOW Presents Plus in the UK.

Described as the “Tournament of All Stars,” the new batch of episodes is set to feature a whopping 18 queens, making it the largest cast in All Stars herstory.

The line-up is as follows: Acid Betty (season 8), Aja (season 9, All Stars 3), Alyssa Hunter (season 14), Bosco (season 14), Cynthia Lee Fontaine (season 8, 9), Daya Betty (season 14), Deja Skye (season 14), Denali (season 13) and Ginger Minj (season 7, All Stars 2, 6).

More gag-worthy star power incoming: Irene Dubois (season 15), Jorgeous (season 14, All Stars 9), Kerri Colby (season 14), Lydia B Kollins (season 17), Mistress Isabelle Brooks (season 15), Nicole Paige Brooks (season 2), Olivia Lux (season 13), Phoenix (season 3) and Tina Burner (season 13).

As per a press release: “For the first time ever, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars will introduce a brand-new format across 12 episodes: the Tournament of All Stars.

“The queens will be divided into 3 groups of 6, each competing in their own bracket across 3 episodes. At the end of each bracket, the top three queens with the highest point totals will then advance to the semi-finals.

“There, they’ll go head-to-head with the top queens from the other groups in another round of fierce competition over 3 episodes. The tournament will culminate in an epic Lip Sync Smackdown for the Crown, where the finalists will battle it out for a place in the coveted Drag Race Hall of Fame.”
