The Ultimatum: Queer Love has been cancelled after two seasons.

According to Variety, Netflix axed the reality dating series after its second season failed to reach the streamer’s global Top 10, unlike its predecessor.

Like its flagship series, The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, which has been confirmed to return for season four, Queer Love follows five queer couples made up of women and non-binary people, in which one partner issued an ultimatum: get married or break up.

Couples then split up and entered a “trial marriage” with a different cast member for three weeks, before reuniting with their original partner for another three weeks. At the end, each person had to decide whether to get engaged, leave alone, or start a new relationship with someone else from the cast.

Upon its 2023 release, Queer Love was met with widespread acclaim for its sapphic representation and chaotic storylines, as well as for adding much-needed diversity to a television landscape dominated by heterosexual dating shows such as Love Island, Too Hot to Handle and Love Is Blind.

With so few queer dating shows, and an ongoing purge of fan-favourite LGBTQIA+ series – from A League of Their Own to Queen of the Universe and Mid-Century Modern – the cancellation of Queer Love sparked widespread backlash online.

“Netflix canceling Queer Ultimatum is a joke man,” wrote one X/Twitter user. “Sure season 2 wasn’t great but now many pseudo docs can they produce of murdered women yet can’t give a fun queer centered show another season.”

“I’m sorry, we’re in season NINE of Love Is Blind, the show about actual heterosexual psychopaths, but we can’t have more Queer Ultimatum?” said another, with a third writing: “Damn they can really only have one lesbian show running at a time can’t they.”

Alexander Skarsgård has revealed that his past experiences with both ‘men and women’ had no relevance on his performance in the gay BDSM film, Pillion.

The film, directed by Harry Lighton in his feature debut, stars the True Blood icon as Ray, the handsome leader of a gay motorbike club who becomes the dom to Colin (Henry Melling), a reserved “wallflower letting life pass him by”.

When discussing his role at the Zurich Film Festival, Skarsgård emphasised that his personal experiences with both men and women were not relevant to his performance: “I found that in this case, it’s not really relevant what my background is.

“I mean, I do have a kid, but what I’ve done in the past, who I’ve been with, men, women… To me, what was important was that this felt like an opportunity to tell a story about a subculture I hadn’t seen portrayed this way – with so much authenticity.

“My experience of watching this on screen was through [Al Pacino starrer] Cruising, where it’s this dark underbelly of New York City and it’s dangerous, murderous and scary. Leather gays are scary.”

While Skarsgård shared that he’s “no Ray”, he revealed that he has “a little bit of experience from that world, and I know that’s not a truthful depiction”.

The official synopsis for Pillion is as follows: “Ray uproots Colin from his dreary suburban life, introducing him to a community of kinky, queer bikers and taking all sorts of virginities along the way.

“But as Colin steps deeper into Ray’s world of rules and mysteries, he begins to question whether the life of a 24/7 submissive is for him. Has he found his calling, or simply swapped one form of suffocation for another?”

In the first trailer, released on 1 October, Colin and Ray’s sub-dom dynamic is on full display: Ray refuses to let Colin sit beside him at dinner, saving the seat instead for his Rottweiler, Colin squeals in pain/pleasure during a bonkers wrestling match, and he’s even tasked with running errands for Ray.

The trailer culminates with Ray instructing Colin to buy a butt plug because he’s “too tight”, prompting Colin to hilariously stammer: “Yeah, erm… lovely! That sounds like a plan… Bye then.”

Pillion, based on the novel Box Hill by Adam Mars-Jones, also stars Douglas Hodge as Pete, Lesley Sharp as Peggy, Anthony Welsh as Darren and Scissor Sisters star Jake Shears as Kevin, another sub.

Following its premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, where it won Best Screenplay and the Palm Dog, the romantic dramedy has received universal critical acclaim for Lighton’s direction and the performances of Skarsgård and Melling, as well as its unexpectedly heartfelt love story.

Pillion will be released in the UK on 28 November – watch the trailer below.

Jeremy Joseph, the owner of the legendary G–A-Y Bar in Soho, has announced its closure.

Speaking to Metro, Joseph explained that long-running rent struggles, particularly during COVID, combined with Soho’s fading queer identity and safety concerns, led him to close G-A-Y Bar. He said these issues made his decision to concentrate on keeping Heaven open “a lot easier.”

“When I opened the Old Compton venue, it was the gayest street in London, but now it has lost its identity,” he said. “This weekend half of Old Compton Street was closed because there was a crime scene up. Most of the pride flags have been taken down, it’s really sad to see.”

Despite living above G-A-Y Bar, Joseph said he was forced to choose between it and Heaven when landlords ArchCo sought to increase Heaven’s rent. He explained that it was “better to protect one venue that’s got more history than another which is an area I cannot see improving.”

Joseph expanded on the difficulties with rent: “We underwent arbitration with ArchCo which was nearly two years of hell. But we didn’t let them bully us – we have come out the other side. I will say this to all business owners – never let your landlords bully you.”

He also posted an impassioned message on social media, recalling some of his fondest memories of G-A-Y Bar.

“I will never forget when Madonna performed at G-A-Y at the Astoria,” he wrote. “All night people were singing Madonna songs, the street was alive and electric and queer. Imagine that happening today, residents would be on the phone complaining, the gays are singing too loudly!”

Another moment that “will always stand out” for Joseph was the 2019 Pulse Nightclub shooting — the deadliest attack on LGBTQIA+ people in U.S. history, when 49 lives were tragically taken — which, he said, “brought everyone together and the focal point was Old Compton Street.”

Joseph reflected on how venues, artists and charities, devastated by the loss of life, wanted to “do something special” to bring people together and pay tribute to the LGBTQIA+ community and their “family in the US.”

A post shared by Jeremy Joseph (@jeremy_joseph)

With just 24 hours to organise, the word quickly spread: “By 5pm Old Compton Street was starting to get busier, by 6pm it was nearly full, and by 7pm you couldn’t move – the community came together in their thousands.”

Joseph ended his post by expressing gratitude to G-A-Y’s customers over the decades, while making clear that Heaven is his “future.”

“As of today, I hope to continue making Heaven a second home for so many LGBTQ+ people,” he said. “Being part of your lives and continuing toward Heaven’s 50th in 2029.”

His message was met with an outpouring of love and support from G-A-Y fans and performers, particularly the queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race, who have long been a mainstay of G-A-Y and Heaven’s nightlife. Several performers shared their memories and gratitude on social media.

Kyran Thrax said: “My love I’m so sorry – proud of you for how you’ve handled all of this.”

Peppermint commented: “One of the first places that allowed me to come and perform years before I was ever even on Drag Race. Appreciate you so much and definitely feeling this loss. Here’s to another chapter together my love! Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for our community.”

Laganja Estranja said she’s “so grateful” to Joseph to “have performed here and made many memories.”

One of Soho’s most iconic queer landmarks, G-A-Y Bar has been credited with helping make queer nightlife more mainstream and accessible to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Its closure, following the 2023 shutdown of G-A-Y Late, is a stark reminder of the threats facing London’s queer spaces, and for many, the loss is truly devastating.

Katya has confirmed that UNHhhh has come to an end.

In a recent interview with TikTok personality Eric Sedeno on the Wild Wild Web podcast, the Drag Race legend revealed that she and her co-star — and comedy partner — Trixie Mattel “are not doing it anymore.”

Premiering in 2016, UNHhhh ran for eight seasons and 231 episodes. The series, which hilariously tackled inane topics such as “College,” “Pain” and “Straight People,” earned acclaim for its chaotic editing, the duo’s effortless chemistry, and their dark absurdist humour.

Despite its success, Katya admitted the show could be “really hard to do because there was no direction”, and at times, “horrible.”

“I suggested we did ‘lunch’ one day and it was terrible,” she recalled.

“When you do that kind of improv, it can be quite exhausting to try to create something out of absolutely nothing. And if you weren’t feeling it, if you didn’t have a great outfit and hair, and you felt kind of ugly, it was horrible.”

Still, she added: “The times we were both feeling it, it was just really effortless and special.”

News of UNHhhh’s conclusion was widely mourned online. “So this is how I find out I have no reason to live?” one fan tweeted.

Others, however, said the decision was understandable given the show’s long run and the pair’s hectic schedules.

“I’m sad but it has like hundreds of episodes,” a fan wrote on X/Twitter, while another reflected: “Thank you UNHhhh for introducing me to something very special (and making my high school lunch time entertaining).”

A third added: “Good for them. They gave us SO much (and are still giving). UNHhhh had a fab run; the whole team should be so proud!”

Since 2020, Trixie and Katya have co-hosted the podcast The Bald and the Beautiful (now at 221 episodes and winner of eight Webby Awards!) and continue to deliver commentary on Netflix productions with I Like to Watch.

You can watch their latest I Like to Watch episode, where they react to Happy Gilmore 2, below.

The first trailer for A24’s queer BDSM romance Pillion has landed, and it’s equal parts raunchy and hilarious.

Directed by Harry Lighton, in his feature debut, the film follows Colin, a “weedy wallflower letting life pass him by,” and Ray, the “impossibly handsome leader of a motorbike club” he becomes the submissive to.

Henry Melling, known for his performance as Dudley Dursley in that wizarding franchise and Harry Baltic in The Queen’s Gambit, stars as Colin, while Ray is played by the True Blood and Big Little Lies icon Alexander Skarsgård.

Pillion’s official synopsis reads: “Ray uproots Colin from his dreary suburban life, introducing him to a community of kinky, queer bikers and taking all sorts of virginities along the way.

“But as Colin steps deeper into Ray’s world of rules and mysteries, he begins to question whether the life of a 24/7 submissive is for him. Has he found his calling, or simply swapped one form of suffocation for another?”

In the first trailer, set to Peggy March’s ‘I Will Follow Him’, Colin is caught off guard when Ray approaches him in a bar, setting the stage for their wild sub-dom dynamic.

Across a series of chaotic and hilarious scenes, Ray – serving a bit of Eric Northman! – refuses to let Colin sit beside him at dinner (saving the seat instead for his Rottweiler), Colin squeals in agony during a raucous wrestling match, and he’s even put to work running errands for Ray.

It culminates in a hilariously awkward moment when Ray instructs Colin to buy a butt plug because he’s “too tight,” prompting Colin to stammer: “Yeah, yeah, erm… lovely. That sounds like a plan… Bye then.”

Pillion premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it won Best Screenplay and the Palm Dog, and earned nominations for both the Caméra d’Or and Queer Palm.

Since then, it has garnered universal acclaim, holding a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising the leads’ performances, Lighton’s bold direction and its unexpectedly tender love story.

Based on the novel Box Hill by Adam Mars-Jones, Pillion also stars Douglas Hodge as Pete, Lesley Sharp as Peggy, Anthony Welsh as Darren and Scissor Sisters star Jake Shears as Kevin, another sub.

It will be released theatrically in the UK by Picturehouse on 28 November.

Months before his death, Terence Stamp filmed scenes for a sequel to the iconic LGBTQIA+ film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Stephan Elliot, the writer and director of the 1994 classic, recently told Deadline that he persuaded Stamp to reprise his acclaimed role as transgender nightclub artist Bernadette. While the late actor was hesitant, Elliot promised it would not be a rehash of the original.

“So I came forward with something that is pretty special and unique,” Elliot revealed. “And that’s when I got him.”

The original film also starred Hugo Weaving and Guy Pearce as drag queens Mitzi Bel Bra and Felicia Jollygoodfellow, who travel with Bernadette across the Australian outback in a tour bus named Priscilla.

The road comedy, which earned Stamp BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations, was praised for its groundbreaking depiction of trans women and drag queens, and has been credited with introducing queer themes to a mainstream audience.

Elliot, who also credits Priscilla with paving the way for queer media such as RuPaul’s Drag Race, explained that a sequel had been in the works “just before COVID, because it took me decades to find a plot and I found it”.

“But then COVID came along, and of course, we all lost ground, but it did give us the time to get the script underway. And as well you know, we have very big heels to fill, and we’ve been pretty much at it ever since,” he continued. “Terence wasn’t getting any younger, and that’s a fact he loved to shove down our throats almost every day.”

Deadline first reported news of the sequel in April 2024.

Elliot said discussions at the time involved “a lot of trial and error” over how Stamp’s character would look at 88 years old.

“So the clock clicked on, and then when the AI wars broke out, Terence was indignant that he didn’t want a digital clone of himself playing Bernadette,” he recalled. “He wanted the chance to put the character down himself. And I will quote him in this case. He said: ‘Just in case I don’t make the start line.’”

With the blessing of Stamp, his family, Weaving, Pearce and the financiers, Elliot decided to “pre-shoot all the Bernadette scenes.”

Sadly, Stamp passed away on 17 August, 2025, at the age of 87.

Elliot said of Stamp: “He was 87, turning 88… And I put him through a multi-cam shoot, spread over several grueling sessions. All I can say is, that the old trouper gave it everything he had. He hated putting the wig on again.

“But at the same time, my God, you could have bottled that smile. I mean, it was brilliant fun, and he really did have the time of his life. But calling ‘that’s a wrap’ on Terence Stamp… are going to be words that will haunt me to the day I die.”

His death was met with an outpouring of tributes from the entertainment industry and former co-stars, including Pearce, who posted a heartfelt farewell to his “dear Tel”.

“You were a true inspiration, both in and out of heels,” Pearce wrote on X/Twitter. “We’ll always have Kings Canyon, Kings Road and F’ing ABBA. Wishing you well on your way ‘Ralph’!”

Amie Stoppard, Stamp’s niece, shared photos of her late uncle in the makeup chair as he stepped back into Bernadette’s full glam.

She said he “poured his heart into this project before he passed,” working with “passion and determination to bring Bernadette’s spirit back to life, and this film became his swan song”.

“Though he is no longer here to see it completed, the sequel carries his talent and love within it,” Stoppard continued.

“It stands not only as a testament to his extraordinary career, but also as part of his enduring legacy in how Priscilla broke new ground and boundaries for the LGBTQ+ community — a story that was brought visibility, courage, and humanity to the big screen in ways that were ahead of their time.”

While Elliot remained tight-lipped on specifics, he described Priscilla 2 as a “very unusual” and “touching” film that explores “what it’s like to get old and to be either gay [and/or] trans” — a subject, he noted, that has “never been explored.”

A post shared by Amie Stoppard (@amieshoppit)

“I had to come to him with a plot that is a really good one. And when I came to [Stamp], he looked at me and said, ‘Okay, I didn’t see that one coming.’ So I brought him something completely original,” Elliot explained.

“At that point, he said, ‘Right, that’s the promise. I’ll do this because you’re going in a different direction. But at the same time, I will never let you just repeat yourself.’ None of us want that. And Guy doesn’t want that either, and Hugo either.”

Elliot confirmed that Stamp appeared in full costume as Bernadette for the shoot. He added that the role will inevitably require some CGI face replacement — “I’m going to have an actor playing Terence Stamp. I mean, it is scary” — and that he hopes filming for the sequel will begin in 2026.

Khalid is “fully liberated” in the music video for his new single, ‘Out of Body’.

The second release from his new album, the club-friendly, Darkchild-produced anthem blends 00s R&B and dance influences. Lyrically, Khalid yearns so intensely for a love interest that he feels “out of body.”

Directed by Levi Turner, the accompanying video sees Khalid and his troupe performing sultry choreography on a dimly lit street, before he and his first-ever on-screen gay love interest take their teasing to a public toilet.

In a statement, Khalid said: “This is me in my fully liberated element.”

‘Out of Body’ follows ‘In Plain Sight’ as the second single from his fourth album, After the Sun Goes Down, which is due for release on 10 October.

Khalid previously said the album is “about taking my power back, living in my truth, and being able to express myself freely”, adding: “I’m excited for my fans to experience this new era with me, not just musically, but personally.”

This new era marks Khalid’s first since publicly coming out as gay. He confirmed his sexuality in November 2024 after being outed, telling fans: “And the world still continues to turn… I am not ashamed of my sexuality.”

Earlier this year, Khalid performed at his first-ever Pride event – where the support from the audience moved him to tears – and opened up to Billboard about the “freedom that comes from knowing I can just be myself and still be embraced and appreciated”.

“That doesn’t change because the world finds out I’m gay,” he told the publication. “Because I don’t change because the world finds out I’m gay.”

From his 2016 debut ‘Location’ to now, Khalid has cemented himself as a streaming juggernaut.

Ten of his songs have surpassed a billion Spotify streams, most notably the 3.4-billion-stream megahit ‘Lovely’ with Billie Eilish.

His catalogue of hits also boasts ‘Eastside’ (benny blanco and Halsey), ‘Silence’, ‘Better’, ‘Young Dumb & Broke’, ‘Talk’ (Disclosure), and ‘Love Lies’ (Normani).

Watch the music video for ‘Out of Body’ below.

The new issue of Gay Times, featuring King Princess, A Night Like This stars Alexander Lincoln and Jack Brett Anderson, NFL’s first trans cheerleader Justine Lindsay, and more, is out now – available exclusively to subscribers.

‘The winner of Big Brother 2025 is… Zelah!’ sounds about right, doesn’t it?

The iconic reality series has returned for its 22nd season — and third since the ITV reboot — with co-hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best introducing 12 new housemates to the nation.

Among them is Zelah Glasson, a 25-year-old personal trainer from South London who says he’s “constantly compared to a spaniel dog” and is “pretty unbearable if I don’t get my 12,000 steps a day.”

“I’m half-Indian, half-English, so my mum’s from Calcutta and my dad was from Cornwall,” he explained in his VT.

“The kind of people I don’t usually get along with are bro-y guys, which I know is ironic to say as I sit here in a wife pleaser with a mullet.”

Zelah went on to share that people are “usually pretty shocked” to learn he’s a trans man, having “lived as a woman for 23 years” of his life.

“I think I’m living proof that being transgender is not a choice, because why would I choose to go from the luxury, the sanctuary that is the women’s toilets to the horror that is the men’s?”

Zelah was immediately met with an overwhelmingly positive reaction from Big Brother UK viewers, who have already declared him the winner.

Many responded with thirst, while others praised the show for casting a trans man “in our current political climate.”

“I’ll start walking 12,000 steps a day for him,” one viewer wrote on X/Twitter, with another adding: “A trans man on BBUK in the big 2025 is a huge win for representation, team Zelah!”

A third said: “Call me old fashioned but yes, I was born to serve my husband. Cook for him. Do the laundry. Wake up at the crack of dawn to make his breakfast, prepare his clothes, clean the house, take care of him and run a bath after work.”

Check out the support for Zelah below.

https://twitter.com/Dutchbbfan/status/1972408129133682827/photo/1

Before entering the house, Zelah explained that he signed up for the series because he’s “in this weird in-between where I’ve recently left the corporate world into having a bit of a looser schedule while I get qualified and build my business.

“So it felt like a ‘why not’ situation. I’m someone who doesn’t have much of a social battery that runs out, so I’m very intrigued to see how far that goes in the house.”

He also addressed the onslaught of attacks in mainstream media aimed at the trans community, saying it “will be nice to re-centre that and retake control.”

With Big Brother UK having crowned two trans winners in prior seasons – Nadia Almada in 2004 and Luke Anderson in 2012 – Zelah praised the series for showing “the normality of people. You can’t get more personal than watching someone 24/7.”

The 11 additional contestants on the 22nd season of Big Brother UK are as follows: Cameron Kinch (22, Taunton), Caroline Monk (56, Canvey Island), Elsa Rae (21, Essex), Emily Hewertson (25, Northampton), Gani Khan (39, Bromley/India), Jenny Baird (20, Derry), Marcus John (22, Manchester), Nancy Nocerino (22, Glasgow/Italy), Sam Ashby (27, Skipton), Tate Reynolds (27, Falkirk) and Teja Dalphy (18, Bristol).

Big Brother UK airs Sunday to Friday on ITV2/ITVX.

The new issue of Gay Times, featuring King Princess, A Night Like This stars Alexander Lincoln and Jack Brett Anderson, NFL’s first trans cheerleader Justine Lindsay, and more, is out now – available exclusively to subscribers.

Alexander Lincoln and Jack Brett Anderson open up about their instant chemistry in A Night Like This and the gay drama’s profound themes of love, loneliness and queer connection.

In cinemas now, the film tells the story of Lukas (Anderson), a struggling actor, and Oliver (Lincoln), a privileged club owner, whose chance encounter sparks a single, transformative night in London.

The directorial debut of Liam Calvert, A Night Like This was written and produced by Diego Scerrati and co-produced by Reece Cargan and James Heath of Randon.

Additional cast includes David Bradley (Game of Thrones), Beth Rylance (The B@it) and Jimmy Ericson.

In the latest issue of Gay Times Magazine, Lincoln shares that he was drawn to the film because “it doesn’t lean so much into the sex aspect that so many LGBTQIA+ films do.”

While he admits he “loves a gay romp” – calling them the “lifeblood of existence” (correct) – he says the real appeal lies in the “complex” characterisation of both Lukas and Oliver.

“There’s so much nuance to Oliver’s character, so much insecurity, so much he’s trying to deflect almost the whole time. Then he seemingly meets Lucas, and he sees someone he feels akin to,” he says.

“There’s a draw for me in characters where – and again, it doesn’t necessarily matter the genre or whether there’s a sexual component – it’s about the complexity of the character. That’s what I’ve looked for in almost every project I’ve done so far.”

For Anderson, his chemistry with Lincoln was “quite instant”.

“We both look at the world in a similar way — we’re hopeful,” he says. “So it wasn’t a difficult thing. It felt like everyone else played their part in making it what it was by bringing us together.

“I always say Alex is so easy to work with, so it was very easy for me. It felt very authentic, very organic.”

Lincoln is best known for his performance as Mark Newton in the beloved gay romantic drama In From The Side (2022). Anderson first rose to fame with his debut theatre role as Prince Edward in Christopher Marlowe’s Edward II, which earned him critical acclaim.

From Girl Violence to her “miserable bottom” brand, not to mention the Christine Baranski romance rumours, King Princess spills all in her Gay Times cover debut.

The singer-songwriter, born Mikaela Mullaney Straus, has just released her third studio album, aforementioned Girl Violence, months after making her acting debut in Prime Video’s Nine Perfect Strangers alongside Baranski, Nicole Kidman, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Murray Bartlett.

Led by singles such as ‘Cry Cry Cry’ and ‘RIP KP’, the raw and emotionally-charged album dives into destruction, uncertainty and the layered complexities of lesbian relationships. As she tells Gay Times: “All we’ve seen [in media] is the tragedy of lesbianism.

“There is very seldom a happy ending for us. Because of that, society has given us the blueprint on how we should love. I feel like we have replicated it because it’s become our truth. I felt that love was only love if it was extremely painful.

“So, the record shows that I’m sometimes the perpetrator, sometimes it’s about friendships, sex and love. If I can go through all the channels of it, then I can make an effective record about the experience of being a hectic lesbian.”

In recent weeks, the close bond between King Princess and her Nine Perfect Strangers co-star Christine Baranski has gone viral, with the duo serving major lesbian power couple energy as they held hands at the Mamma Mia! Broadway re-opening in NYC.

King Princess confirms that the Emmy-winning icon is her “bestie”, calling her “an incredible light in my life.”

“We had this bond on Nine Perfect Strangers, and we’ve just stayed friends,” she says. “What a fun vibe. We go to Broadway shows. We go to dinner. We talk shit. We hang out. She’s the best.”

In her interview, King Princess dives deeper into Girl Violence – her “summation of queer love up to this point” – explains why she weighed in on the recent Betty Who controversy, and teases her future as a Hollywood actor.
